WOMEN'S HEALTH
FERTILITY

Complimentary medicine such as acupuncture, herbs, and nutrition is scientifically proven to enhance fertility. Traditional Chinese Medicine is geared towards strengthening the body, resolving imbalances and generating homeostasis.
For women a three to nine month treatment plan can regulate hormones, alleviate stress and increase chances of natural conception with higher quality eggs and regulated ovulation.
For men, it takes 70 days to generate new sperm and requires three to six months to increase sperm quantity and improve quality (motility/morphology).

IN-VITRO FERTILIZATION ( IVF )
Reproductive Endocrinology is starting to recognize the efficacy of acupuncture in increasing a patient's chances of successful implantation and pregnancy. Please see the articles section of this website for research published in western medical journals on acupuncture and herbal therapy for the enhancement of Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART).
PREGNANCY
Acupuncture and Herbal Therapy provides a natural way to ease a woman through pregnancy. Regular balancing treatments throughout pregnancy can enhance the mother’s health, ease discomfort and influence fetal development. One patient described her acupuncture treatment as, “a wave of warmth and realization that gave me a moment to reflect on my body, instead of having my head filled with worry over my first baby being born.”
Among the numerous benefits of acupuncture during pregnancy, one Australian study published in Birth reported that out of 593 women who were less than 14 weeks pregnant, those who received acupuncture reported less frequency and shorter duration of nausea than the women who received no acupuncture.

POST-PARTUM
Just when a mother should be at optimal health taking care of a newborn around the clock, she is often emotionally and physically exhausted. Acupuncture and herbal therapy are extremely useful in restoring energy, metabolizing excess hormones, healing wounds (tears and cesarean incisions) and replenishing blood supply.

PREMENSTRUAL SYNDROME ( PMS )
Eastern medicine excels at treating endocrine imbalances and PMS (Premenstrual Syndrome). By regulating hormones, acupuncture and herbal therapy can regulate the period to resolve menstrual irregularities and PMS symptoms (cramping, back pain, irritability, depression, breast distention, diarrhea or constipation, gas or bloating; migraines, insomnia).
MENOPAUSE
Symptoms are similar to PMS, ranging from mild to severe as the pituitary gland releases more hormones in an effort to stimulate aging ovaries. Other symptoms include irregular menstruation, hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness, memory loss, dizziness and palpitations. As with PMS, Traditional Oriental Medicine is very successful at managing these symptoms with acupuncture and herbal medicine.
